A Seashell for Sarah
I drew this conch shell a couple of years ago and finally put the finishing touches on it with some photographic textures, altered paper, and a scan of an original poem titled To the Memory of Sarah Livingston, by Henry Livingston, Jr. Henry was my great, great, great, great, great, great uncle and it has finally been proven that he was the actual author of "The Night Before Christmas" (previously claimed by Clement Moore's family).
Graphite illustrations with photographic textural elements, and textural scan — digitally layered and manipulated.

Adrift
This award-winning image began with a walk along the 804 trail north of Yachats, Oregon is a delightful way to spend a morning. There are often cairns along the way, left by creative hikers. (A cairn is a stack of rocks, created as a landmark or, in this case, perhaps, a symbol of one’s love for the Oregon coast). Anyway… there were several cairns along the way, but this one caught my eye because it looked so much like a person fishing in some sort of raft. As per usual, I digitally altered it so as to accentuate what I saw.

Amethyst
I painted this eco-print with watercolor and then digitally altered it. It's always fun combining my favorite mediums to create textural pieces. Looking forward to doing another eco-print run very soon.

Balancing Act
I love finding art on the beach and cairns are no exception. I decided to draw one. I illustrated the rocks with graphite and then, digitally “painted” them with photographic texures and layering them with other photographs.

Crow and Berry
My love of both drawing and crows causes me to create drawings and paintings of these curious birds. Here is yet another one. I find them so intriguing. I love throwing peanuts to them in the morning.

Delta Blue
Wandering around the Delta Ponds in Eugene, Oregon, I was fortunate enough that a Great Blue Heron decided to perch in the tree across the pond. I slowly walked to the tree and found it preening itself. It wasn’t at all startled by my being there and continued to preen and pose for me.

Earth Below, Fire Within
I created this abstract by digitally manipulating altered paper (National Geographic pages that have been altered with Citrosolv). The result reminded me of something from the EarthSea Trilogy by Ursula LeGuin. It’s been so long since I read it, I can’t relate it to anything specific…just a feeling.

Fish Moon
The original photo for this piece was a piece of seaweed in the sand. I love the photograph unchanged, but it inspired me to dress it up a bit. (The Fish Moon is also known as the Pink Moon - The full moon in April)

I took the original photo of this piece at Crater Lake, in Oregon, this past summer. I took a series of photos of this young crow sitting atop an old crag. It wasn’t until I got home and loaded my photos on the computer that I happily realized there was another young one sitting below on the rocks. It had been a hot summer, so I made the scene cold and snowy.

Reflecting
This pelican hangs out at Fern Ridge Reservoir outside of Eugene, Oregon. She or he seems to feel quite at home here. Although her home was beautiful, I decided to change it up.

Subterranean Blues
An eco-print that has been digitally altered with the addition of a bit of watercolor. (An eco-print is made by stacking papers and plant matter and boiling them in a prepared bath. The tannins from the plants then imprint on the paper). I altered the print with several photographs, an etched metal plate, and handmade textures.

The Gift
Mixed media photographic art. On the coast last summer, on my birthday, this sweet crow fly up to where I was standing and posed for me for several minutes. I was photographing families of crows in a ravine and wishing one would come to visit me. And voila!Photographs, fabric, and handmade textural elements — digitally layered and manipulated.

This Moment to Arise
Many of you know that I am a huge fan of crows. This collage is comprised of altered paper for the background, graphite illustrated crow, a photo of the moon, and an acrylic pour for the background. I wanted a dreamy feel and I feel like it got it. Award of Merit - Gallery Ring Online Gallery - ANYTHING 2021.
